Surviving the Holidays with GriefShare

Holidays can be the most difficult times for people who are dealing with grief.

When you have lost loved ones or friends through death, it can seem almost impossible to celebrate the Holiday Season without them.

No matter how young or old you are, grief can be a very real issue for every one. If you haven't lost someone through death, be sure that some day it will happen to you. Most people realize that until they experience grief, they had no idea what it was like for their friends and family members who have been there.

Most of us need some support when we face the unfamiliar face of grief ... certainly no one should have to go through grief alone especially during the Holiday Season. A special seminar edition of GriefShare has been released for Surviving the Holidays.

I have had the good fortune to experience the GriefShare program over the past several months as a participant and c0-facilitator. GriefShare classes are casual support groups where grief counseling information is shared by professionals and ordinary people who have experienced grief. Each participant receives a workbook (usually for a minimal fee) with great material for daily support between classes.

Our group meets in the Gallatin area (north Metro Nashville area, Sumner County) at College Heights Baptist Church. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the Holiday Sessions, please contact me.

If you have been experiencing grief issues, please consider finding a GriefShare group in your town/state at www.GriefShare.org
